Federation of Associations for Hunting and Conservation of the EU : ウィキペディア英語版 | Federation of Associations for Hunting and Conservation of the EU FACE (Federation of Associations for Hunting and Conservation of the EU) is an international NGO representing the interests of hunters for wildlife conservation and sustainable management in 38 European countries. FACE was founded in 1977 and is based in Brussels. FACE was created by the national hunting associations of 9 European countries. The necessity for hunters to be aware of the decisions taken in Brussels and have a representative voice present had become clear. The adoption of the Birds Directive in 1979 as a major piece of EU environmental legislation covering all bird species in Europe signaled the beginning of the growing importance of the EU for hunters everywhere. FACE aims to sustain hunting cultures across Europe. Essentially, the primary work of FACE is to ensure an enabling political environment for hunters, and to ensure that hunters have nature to enjoy and wildlife for hunting. FACE and hunters contribute valuable information and expertise to the EU decision-making process. FACE has been a Member of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) since 1987 and more recently, Wetlands International and is involved in a number of international agreements relating to nature and wildlife. ==External links==
